Bristol-Myers Squibb Partnering Day

Nov 15, 2011 - Category: BayBio Event

BMS has an enviable record of successful partnerships and alliances that have created tremendous value for patients and partners. BMS is interested in partnering opportunities that address unmet needs in serious disease and are supported by good science. Opportunities need to be aligned with the strategic focus of BMS’ core therapeutic areas or be adjacent to and synergistic with those core areas. Opportunities can be clinical-stage or in early preclinical development.

To accelerate the discovery and development of important new therapies, BMS is complementing and enhancing its internal capabilities with innovative alliances, partnerships, and acquisitions. BMS calls this its "String of Pearls" strategy. To execute this strategy, BMS rigorously and efficiently evaluates external opportunities that are in keeping with its strategic goals and mission. BMS makes disciplined choices regarding when and how it incorporates partners, assets, technologies or geographies into its flexibly integrated organization.

Why Partner with BMS?

Since 2002, BMS has introduced 13 new medicines for the treatment of various diseases and disorders, five of which are biologic products. Other biologics, as well as scores of additional investigational small molecule medicines, are advancing rapidly through its R&D pipeline. Through a combination of internal discovery and selective integration of externally-discovered compounds, Bristol-Myers Squibb has developed a pipeline of small molecules and biologics that is recognized as being one of the most promising in the biopharmaceutical industry.
