As the Southwest Regional Coordinator for the sanofi-aventis BioGENEius Challenge, the BayBio Institute invites submissions from high school students throughout the Southwest Region to participate in the premier biotechnology research competition in the country.

Students who participate in the Challenge will have opportunities to:

  • - meet biotechnology industry executives and scientists
  • - participate in the Regional Competition and the annual conference of the California BayBio Association (April 7, 2010 – Burlingame, CA, near San Francisco, CA)
  • - participate in the International Finals and attend the premier biotech industry international conference, BIO (May 2-4, 2010 – Chicago, IL)
  • - qualify to win cash prize awards ranging from $500 - $7500
  • - meet students from across the U.S., Canada and Western Australia
  • - add the prestigious career-building competition to their resumes and college applications

sanofi-aventis Southwest Regional International BioGENEius Challenge

Under the Biotechnology Institute's direction, the sanofi-aventis International BioGENEius Challenge is an annual competition for high school students that recognizes outstanding research in biotechnology. This pertains to the Southwest Regional section of the competition.

The event takes place during the Biotechnology Institute's Conference on Biotechnology Education in Chicago (May 2-4, 2010).
