Sweet Spot: Advances in Diabetes Care

Sponsored by:
Campbell Alliance Spacer Chwartz Communications
With Support From:
Latham

The prevalence of diabetes continues to grow, with nearly 8 percent of the U.S. population, or 23.6 million children and adults, who are living with the disease. While the majority of that population has been diagnosed with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, nearly one quarter remains unaware of their condition. If not diagnosed early or properly treated, diabetes can lead to serious complications or even premature death. In fact, according to the American Diabetes Association, nearly one third of the total economic cost of the disease - $174 billion – accounts for chronic diabetes-related complications. The increased percentage of people living with diabetes and the resulting national economic burden, has led many Northern California life science companies to focus development efforts on innovative treatments for the disease. Please join us to learn more about their evolving product development efforts and the impact they hope to have on the treatment of diabetes.
