 Jeffrey H. Cooper Jeffrey H. Cooper
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.

Mr. Cooper joined BioMarin in October 2003 as vice president, controller, and was promoted to the position of chief financial officer in August 2005. Prior to BioMarin, he served as vice president of finance at Matrix Pharmaceutical where he worked for six years. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cooper held numerous finance-related positions within the health care and pharmaceutical industries, including corporate controller at Foundation Health Systems and director of business analysis at Syntex Corporation, a company he worked for from 1983 to 1995. Mr. Cooper, a certified public accountant, earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

 Paul J. Hastings Paul J. Hastings
President and Chief Executive Officer, OncoMed Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Mr. Hastings brings to OncoMed more than 20 years of experience as a biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry executive. From 2002 to 2005, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of QLT, Inc., where he managed the ongoing development and commercialization alliance with Novartis of QLT's anti-blindness photodynamic therapy treatment generating approximately $500 million in annual sales. He also led QLT in the successful acquisitions of Kinetek and Atrix, which significantly expanded top-line sales and revenues, as well as internal development and discovery capabilities. Prior to QLT, Mr. Hastings served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Axys Pharmaceuticals, a fully integrated publicly traded drug discovery and development organization that specialized in target-specific collaborations with multinational pharmaceutical companies. Axys was acquired by Celera Corporation in 2001. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Hastings served as the President of Chiron BioPharmaceuticals, a division of Chiron Corporation, a publicly traded biopharmaceuticals company, where he was responsible for worldwide commercial operations of Chiron's biopharma business. Prior he was President and Chief Executive officer of LXR Biotechnology. Mr. Hastings also held a series of management positions of increasing responsibility at Genzyme Corporation including serving as President of Genzyme Therapeutics, Europe as well as President of Worldwide Therapeutics. Mr. Hastings also served as Vice President Marketing and Sales, and General Manager, Europe, for Synergen Inc., and previously held a series of marketing and sales management positions with Hoffmann-La Roche. Mr. Hastings serves on the board of directors of ViaCell Inc, Cerimon Pharmaceuticals, and serves as a director on the boards of the Biotechnology Industry Association and BayBIO. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island.

 Philip K. Moody Philip K. Moody
Chief Financial Officer, Vice President, Finance & Operations, Peplin

Philip K. Moody has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance & Operations of Peplin since October 2006. Previously, Mr. Moody served as Vice President, Finance and Operations at Chiron Corporation, a biotechnology company acquired by Novartis AG in 2006. From 1995 to his departure in April 2006, Mr. Moody held positions of increasing seniority at Chiron Corporation. While at Chiron, Mr. Moody was instrumental in several acquisitions, including the Behring Vaccines business (a part of Hoechst) and Pathogenesis Corporation. Mr. Moody received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and attended the Haas Graduate School of Business. Mr. Moody also is a Certified Public Accountant.
