Gene Acres Tours Present: EmeryStation East Wareham Development and its tenants at EmeryStation East — the Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI), Amyris Biotechnologies and Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals — invite Gene Acres to tour their newly completed facilities.
EmeryStation East is a glass-clad 245,000-sq.ft. laboratory building with a 22,000 square-foot central landscaped plaza with fountains and sculptures, pedestrian walkways, and terraces. Conceived as a distinguished building for noble and Nobel scientists, EmeryStation East has become the acknowledged center of clean energy and anchors the EmeryStation campus to the East while providing much-needed life, physical and nano science space for the East Bay Biotech Corridor. The Joint BioEnergy Institute, or JBEI, is a scientific partnership led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and including the Sandia National Laboratories (Sandia), the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), the University of California (UC) campuses of Berkeley and Davis, and the Carnegie Institution for Science, located at Stanford University. JBEI at EmeryStation East serves as one of three new U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Research Centers (BRCs). Amyris Biotechnologies is dedicated to improving the world by leveraging breakthroughs in synthetic biology. Amyris' technology is able to provide a consistent, cost-effective supply of biofuels and other high-value natural compounds, including pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and nutraceuticals.
