The Fremont facility came to Amgen in 2006 with the acquisition of Abgenix, Inc. The 100,000 square-foot manufacturing plan represents a significant addition to Amgen’s protein manufacturing capabilities.

Amgen Fremont is devoted to the manufacture of monoclonal antibody therapies, notably Vectibix® (panitumumab), one of the company’s first monoclonal antibodies to be approved for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
