Richard Colonno, PhD
Richard Colonno brings to Presidio Pharmaceuticals over 25 years experience in virology and drug discovery and development; VP, Infectious Disease Drug Discovery, Bristol-Myers Squibb; Senior Director, Antiviral Research, Merck Sharp & Dohme Research Labs; Research Scientist, DuPont; Research Fellow, Roche Institute of Molecular Biology.

Jon C. Mirsalis
Jon C. Mirsalis, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., has overall responsibility for management of SRI's drug discovery, drug development, and biomedical research activities in SRI's Biosciences Division. Mirsalis first joined SRI in 1981 as a Staff Scientist, and subsequently served as a Program Director, Department Director, Laboratory Director, and most recently as the Associate Director of the Biosciences Division. He also currently serves as Director of SRI's Toxicology and Pharmacology Laboratory, a 70-person group that is the largest contractor of preclinical toxicology studies to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Mirsalis has a broad background in drug development, and has personally been involved in the development of more than 50 therapeutics that have entered clinical trials. He has also published extensively in the areas of genetic toxicology, mechanisms of carcinogenesis, development of therapeutics for cancer and infectious disease, and use of transgenic animals; he is the author of more than 125 publications, book chapters, and abstracts. Before joining SRI, Mirsalis was a postdoctoral fellow at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology, where he developed the in vivo-in vitro hepatocyte DNA repair assay, which is now widely used as a screen to identify potential carcinogens by government and industry. Mirsalis has an Adjunct Faculty appointment with the University of California-Santa Cruz, where he lectures regularly on genetic toxicology and carcinogenesis. He is a Past President of the Genetic and Environmental Toxicology Association of Northern California and a past Treasurer of the Environmental Mutagen Society. Mirsalis received his B.S. degree in zoology/molecular biology from Kent State University, his M.S. degree in genetics from North Carolina State University, and holds Ph.D. degrees in toxicology and genetics from North Carolina State University. He has been certified by the American Board of Toxicology since 1983. Mirsalis is also internationally known as a piano accompanist for silent movies. He performs regularly at several major film festivals and has recorded scores for many silent films released on DVD or to cable TV stations.

Israel Rios, MD
Israel Rios, M.D. has served as Chief Medical Officer since joining SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in October 2005. Dr. Rios has over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Rios is responsible for the design and oversight of all clinical trials and the evaluation of new development candidates. From 2003 to 2005 he served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Dendreon Corporation and was responsible for all clinical and operational activities related to the development of late-stage immunotherapeutic candidates for androgen independent prostate cancer (AIPC) and advanced breast cancer. From 1993 to 2000, Dr. Rios was at Berlex Laboratories (the U.S. affiliate of Schering AG of Germany) most recently as Vice President of Oncology Development. From 1984 to 1993, Dr. Rios was Director of Anti-Infective Clinical Research at Marion Merell Dow, Inc. where he directed the clincal development and helped manage the New Drug Application (NDA) submissions of several anti-infective products. From 1978 to 1984, Dr. Rios held several escalating positions at Bristol-Myers, most recently as Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Rios earned his M.D. degree at the Central University of Venezuela. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, and his fellowship in infectious diseases at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.

Roy J. Wu
Roy J. Wu has been Vice President of Business Development at GeneLabs Technologies, Inc. since October 2001. From October 1997 to October 2001, he served as Vice President, Corporate Secretary and member of the board of directors of Kissei Pharma, USA. Prior to joining Kissei, Mr. Wu was Director of Business Development with Quintiles - BRI Inc. for approximately three years and was previously with Syntex for 16 years, in research and development and in business development. He received his B.S. in Biology from University of San Francisco and his M.B.A. in International Finance from University of San Francisco.
