Medical Device Breakfast Series

CANCELLED:
Strategies to Expedite Revenue

With the average cost to develop a new medical device in excess of $100 million, companies have little choice but to improve the efficiency of their research, development, and commercialization processes. Not all commercialization strategies are equally effective for all products, companies or business objectives, and some are simply the wrong choice for a given set of circumstances. There is a range of well proven product commercialization strategies for medical devices intended to expedite revenues: technology transfers, strategic partnering with the established market players, use of independent specialty distributors. Increasingly, with a more adversarial domestic regulatory environment, many companies pursue commercialization in Europe first to develop an income stream. Some are even entering Europe with no intention of seeking US approval. Join a group of medical device veterans discussing commercialization strategies, both domestically and abroad, opportunities and pitfalls to avoid.
