Kathryn Bailey
Kathryn Bailey is the most recent addition to the BayBio team, hailing from Washington D.C., where she grew up and has worked for the past three years. She attended University of Richmond, in Virginia, graduating in 2005 with a B.A. in History. She got her feet wet while working for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Grassroots and Advocacy department, encouraging involvement among the Chamber’s members – particularly trade associations, as well as 12,000 small business owners. In this position, she was charged with updating and marketing an issues advocacy and voter resources website, VoteForBusiness.com. Through these efforts, she gained experience in member engagement, as well as tracking of legislative issues and election planning. Among the grassroots constituency campaigns she worked on was Small Business Health Plan (SBHP) legislation (S. 1955, the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act). She most recently worked at Revolution Health, a consumer health website, founded by former AOL CEO Steve Case. While there, she worked on content sharing and distribution among health information websites and organizations with whom Revolution Health partnered, including the Mayo Clinic, SparkPeople.com, and HealthTalk.com.
