Regional

BayBio’s expanded Regional Relations activities focus on working with government at the local level. With more than 100 cities and a dozen counties in Northern California, long-term solutions require partnership with local governments, especially as the life science industry continues to experience the growing pains that accompany success. BayBio emphasizes educating public officials about biotechnology and establishing strategic relationships with multi-jurisdictional entities in the region. BayBio priority activities include:

  • Educating public officials about biotechnology

  • Working with local governments to ensure streamlined permitting & zoning

  • Working with local governments to understand and contribute to strategic discussions on infrastructure, quality of life and housing issues

  • And simplifying the regulatory environment, among other issues.
